This was not a blocker for open sourcing:

Hi Andrew,

The only thing a malicious person can do with a the app token is possibly subscribe their device token >to tons of channels. Everything else requires either the server token or requires knowledge of other >people’s device tokens.

I think it would be safe to open source.
