Almost not patent burdened #2

Four of the five patents cited in the original CTW page were filed in 1997, and thus expired in 2017:

And the last one is just a mere two weeks from expiring:

Further searching of the inventors/assignees yielded no further patents.

Unless I missed something, Context Tree Weighting will be free from patent encumbrance very soon!

Hi @eaglgenes101 thanks for this memo. I will be updating the README.md once US5986591 has expired.

It's been almost two months since I opened this issue. Any other burdening patents you found?

Hi @eaglgenes101, sorry for the late response. As the last covering patent has expired and the fact that I have not found any other bounding patents, I have removed mentions of patents and released this library under the BSD license.
