Player and homepage chrome changes #75

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

A number of users have mentioned that the player, when collapsed, takes up too
much room on the screen, limiting real estate for reading stories.

I think the intent of the large button was that it would let people more easily
stop the player when it's playing, without having to search for it. See issue
#74.

I'd suggest that the playlist have three states, a mini size when nothing is
queued or playing, a medium size (current "collapsed" state) when it is playing
or something has been queued and the expanded size when opened.

When the player is closed from the expanded view it will close to medium or
mini depending on the playing/playlist state. When it's in mini or medium view,
opening it will go to expanded. When it's in medium view it's possible to
"close" it further into mini view, in which case it remembers this decision
next time it's opened indefinitely or until the playlist/playing state changes.

Got a link from a user about this today. His suggestion:

I agree with a collapsed state, but that is probably too small. I'd also be
seriously against putting the play button in the top right. But this should
really be on the roadmap in the near future.

Changed the name of this item to better reflect the mock. This issue should
include:

* moving search button to the top right
* adding menu button (same functionality as hardware) to the top left
* UI changes to player (smaller, different button)
* addition of a playlist button which pops the window-shade playlist open

I will gather some more details on this soon. So, let me confirm more before
proceeding on any work here. Changed priority accordingly.
