hotend possibly hotter than thermister reading #48

Hi, My thermister temperature is saying it's only 220C but the hotend tip is melting the PET filament and its breaking the filament strand. What could cause temperature to be hotter than thermister reading?

Don't worry, I figured it out- thermister was not making good contact with heat block and giving inaccurate temp reading. Put high temp thermal grease on thermister and is working normally now
