The addtional 4.1/4.2 material can be broadly considered as one of two types: additional verses and additional 'footnotes' and 'improvements/addenda'
The sayings from volumes 1-3 are numbered from 1 to 7613. Each of these has

depending on source of the improvement text . Note that
volume 1 verses can have V1, V2, or V3 sections; verses in volume 2 can have V2 or V3 sections, and
volume 3 can have a V3 section.There are also a handful of <H>
sections; but these are not currently used.
There are additional comments in volumes 4.1/2 pertaining to specific verses appearing in volumes 1-3.
The digitization has placed such a comment in the corresponding group for the verse.
For example, verse 7 has two footnotes -- one appearing in Volume 1 and marked <F>
and one appearing
in volume 4.1 and marked <F4.1>
<F>7) MBH. 3, 1217.·
<F4.1>-- 7 , <i>b</i>, <gr>a.</gr> {#haTha#} bedeutet hier «absolute Nothwendigkeit».·
Verse 11 has footnotes from volume1, volume 4.1 and volume 4.2, whose digitizations are:

<F4.2>-- 11 . PRASAN3GARATNA1VALI1.·
<F4.1>-- 11 , <i>a</i>, <gr>b.</gr> Besser {#pariSevitam#}.·
There are 294 F4.1 instances, and 439 F4.2 instances at current count.
The sayings from volumes 1-3 are numbered from 1 to 7613.
There are 252 additional sayings from 4.2 (part B), numbered from 7614 to 7865.
Each of these has a verse <S>
, an empty translation block (Boehtlingk has provided no translation,
but we have added an empty translation block so that that the additional sayings have the same form as others.
And each additional verse also has a footnote (usually indicating the source), and marked <F>
. There are no
<F4.1>
or <F4.2>
footnotes for these additional verses.
<h3>
Additional material is appended (in the digitization) to the Footnote for 13 verses.
These are inserted 'between' verses by Boehtlingk, but have been added with a preceding <h3>

in the current digitization. The first is at saying 7668:

Currently, at the top of boesp.all_ansi.txt there are 9 footnotes pertaining to volume 3 verses. The form of these is different: instead of a verse number, the reference is via a page-line.

Here is the context for the first case - first from 4.1:
And then from page 539 of volume 3:
Based on that first example, I suggest the first F4.1C be relabeled as F4.1 and moved to a footnote for saying 7224:

And similarly for the other F4.1C @thomasincambodia What do you think of the suggestion?
If you agree with the suggestion of F4.1C, I'll move the F4.1C s. It will be easier for me to do this, since I am making several other corrections related to extraction of <S> <HS>
for proofreading.
agreed. go ahead.
The above link shows the diff for changes related to the F4.1C items.
Here are some notes also pertaining to the changes. The last 2 are particularly hard to know how to handle, since the error being corrected is the verse number itself.

In the commit 7c6e7914, Volumes 4.1 and 4.2 material was added by Thomas.
@funderburkjim is making some simple revisions in the next commit.
