I don't want to answer conclusively for Michael, but since no one else has this
problem the most likely answer is that T-Mobile is blocking your access to the
Last.fm server, or it's blocking access through one of the required ports.
However,
if this were a problem with T-Mobile in general it would follow that others
would
have complained, but it doesn't look like they have. It therefore might be
something
odd in the provisioning of your service on T-Mobile, since you've proved your
phone
is fine, given that it works through a WiFi connection.

A few people have had similar complaints and I agree with pbextreme. It is a
problem
with the T-Mobile access point you are using.
I'm no expert, but it seems that operators have a few access points for gprs/3g
data.
A friend of mine found that it worked on one of their vodaphone access points, but
not on another.

Is it worth creating a FAQ for this and other common complaints? For example,
the
N82 problems, "Update error" when needing to uninstall then re-install...

Yes, an FAQ would be good.

I'm having problems actually getting music to stream.
I'm using a Nokia e71 on the o2 network in the UK, getting full 3G signal.
I can start up Mobbler, it connects and handshakes to my account, and then
displays
the status as Online in the top right. However, when I try to play any of the
stations, it manages to get the playlist, and the artist+song shows up.
However, the
cover art doesn't show, and the song doesn't play at all (stuck at 0:00), and
then
after a while the square stop button on the screen becomes a play button.
I have a feeling it might have to do with the connection setup, as in the top
left
the icon only shows as "3G" and not "3.5G" as is the case when I am surfing the
net
using the browser or on Skype.
In addition, Mobbler works perfectly fine when I'm connected to the WLAN in my
house,
and I managed to get it to work once while at a pub, but thats it.
Any ideas?

Well, the gods (or Nokia, or T-Mobile, or someone) must've been reading this
post. I'm now able to access
Mobbler through T-Mobile on my Nokia E71. It hadn't been working until just a
week or so ago.... Thanks! (to
someone....). :)

I have the same problem. I'm on a N85 and connecting from Orange (France) I
have an
unlimited data connection and it shouldn't have any port restriction (I can go
on
youtube, podcasts and other stuff). Yet when I try to login, I have a "500
internal
server error". Then the scrobbling status is online but all played tracks go to
the
queue instead of being directly submitted. I can't play radios either.
Any idea on what's wrong?

Hi,
I'm having the same problem on a Nokia E71 in France with unlimited access to
3G via
Orange ("5OO internal server error")
I can't use any of the services of last.fm

There was a similar problem that was fixed by using an access point that does
not use
a proxy. I've never had this problem myslef so don't know exactly what to do, but
you could try setting up a new access point (get settings from your operator)
that
doesn't use a proxy.
Let me know how you get on.
Cheers!

Hi there,
got a similar problem here in the netherlands with HI from KPN. When at home
using
WLAN, mobbler works just fine. But when i set mobile internet as acces point,
the
songs just wont play. Just as you, boonkoh, it does everything it has to do,
handshaking get online and stuff, but then the songs just wont play and get
stuck at
0:00.
in addition, mine does say 3.5g instead of just 3. Still doesnt work tho.
Anyone has
any idea what to do? Its really a pity for the cool app it is!
cheers

Hi eartle, thanks for your answer.
You're right when I connect through my home WiFi it works fine (but useless!),
but
when I connect through Orange 3G network it doesn't. I'll ask Orange for a new
access
point but i doubt they can give me one.

You should be able to set an access point up yourself. Here is a page that has
access point settings for UK operators.
http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
The access point I use is the orange one on the right, although the username and
password seem to be blank in my settings. Everything works perfectly for me.
I think there is also a place on the orange website where you can get them to
send a
text containing the settings to you, but I can't find that at the moment.

You can also try this Nokia site to send the settings to your phone, they
should
have most operators worldwide.

Same problem with my Nokia N85 smartphone with Orange in France : I get an "500
internal server error" when I try to connect and scrobble my music. As a result
all
the tracks stay in the queue. So it seems to be more a problem of the phone
operator
rather than Mobbler (I'm using the latest version 0.06(1524)).

Eartle have the solution: with Orange France (or others), don't use proxy
server...
For a 5800, go to settings, connectivity, destinations, internet, [acces point]
orange world, options, advanced settings and delete proxy server adress (&port
num=0). It could be a good idea to keep the existant acces and create a new
acces
point (ex: orange world 2) with a copy of original settings but without proxy
settings, and then switch between priorities (ow & ow2). For other phones, I
don't
know, but i think it doesn't be so far.
Ce n'est pas le sujet, but same problem with nokia ovi store.

Thanks chrisblache. I've added that to the FAQ. It's quite often the case that
a
proxy messes things up.
If you are an Orange France customer or an Orange customer in another country
please
could try this and let us know?
