We have been guilty of presenting smoke-and-mirrors, and in relying on untested assumptions in our sales process. We need to:

  1. Have a checklist that every sales proposal needs to be tested against, aimed at establishing if we really know what's going on here.
  2. Make sure that everything we're stating as a fact in the sales process is backed up by primary sources, which can be tracked down and will trigger a trip wire if we learn new facts.
