Latest version available is 2.3.21-3, which is way outdated, see https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/x86_64/Packages/f/ .

EPEL 8 version seems up to date date with 2.6-1 (see https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/8/Everything/x86_64/Packages/f/ ), though. Is there any reason why EPEL 7 version is not up to date? Are there plans to update it?

The agent 2.6 will not have more fixes version. The next version will be the version 3.0 and is fully rewritten.
