HDMI monitors don't matter well #980

Hello, first, sorry for my English. I'm using GLPI 9.5.6 with Fusioninventory and fusioninventory-agent 2.6, but when I run an inventory the monitors are not property imported in my system when I have it connected via HDMI port. When I connect de monitor via VGA everything work GREAT. I already check my xml and I also research about this and I found not solution.

Thanks for your attention.

Hi @raymond-theboy23 fortunately I had to investigate such problem recently and I can only say you we can't do anything on the agent side. The problem is the monitor itself which is wrongly handling its connection and reports an EDID block without a good serial when it is connected via HDMI. I'm confident this is only related to some monitor manufacturers who just wrongly respect established standards. The only thing to do is to complain against your monitor manufacturer and ask them why the monitor is not exposing its serial when connected via HDMI. Maybe they will better support EDID standard for future models.

On the Ubuntu, can you send me the edid, you have it on folder /sys/class/drm/card%d-%s/edid (to david@durieux.family) ?
