Rename to 'Languages & Layout' and 'Text Prediction & Models' #646

Open issuant opened 3 days ago

What happened?

The 'Models' in 'Languages & Models' doesn't really belong there when most of the fine-grained LLM and Transformer-specific settings are currently under 'Text Prediction'. This inconsistency is causing splitting related settings across multiple pages and duplicated settings, like #614.

If it were simply 'Languages & Layout', like in other keyboards, and 'Text Prediction & Models', everything is clearer, and the inconsistency, splitting, and duplication can be eliminated.

@dean-futo There is currently no 'Languages & Layout' or 'Text Prediction & Models' so renaming this to 'Improve' makes little sense. 'Change to' or 'Rename to' would be more accurate.

Voice input models are managed in the Languages & Models section, hence the naming. If it were renamed this way it would be more confusing because there is no voice input model management in the text prediction menu

It seems there is a misunderstanding here. I am not suggesting simply renaming those sections and calling it a day. That would obviously be wrong. I am saying rename them and centralize all Transformer and model-related settings in the new 'Text Prediction & Models' category, or an even more generally-named 'Prediction & Models', removing them from wherever else they are currently scattered. That includes the entire 'Other options', 'Transformer English v1', and 'Dictionary' (which should really be under the 'Personal Dictionary' setting) in the current 'Language & Models'.

The new 'Languages & Layout' becomes more focused and familiar to new users. This also makes room for the settings yet to be implemented and relocating the entire top half of the settings currently in 'Keyboard & Typing' that are really about layout. You also get rid of that pesky 'Additional Layouts'.

Similarly for the new 'Prediction & Models', which should not have the entire bottom, majorly duplicative settings in the current 'Text Prediction'.
