Description

I believe that the Dvorak layout in the FUTO keyboard is not optimized for mobile phone touch usage. It's a bit closer to a desktop physical keyboard layout, which is less optimal for mobile. FUTO Having all the punctuation together in the top left is like desktop, but this causes a greater chance of using the wrong punctuation. Q and Z are pushed down in a way that feels illogical to me. Top rows are ortholinear, but then the bottom rows are skewed. I also can't stand having the backspace button (which I use often) down on the right above the enter/send button. It's harder to press repeatedly, causing my hand to be scrunched up. Also, I've never been able to understand why anybody would want the backspace right above the enter/send button. How often has somebody accidentally sent something that they were trying to erase? I've seen the fallout from that sort of situation many times. For some reason Dvorak keyboards from multiple other keyboard provides do things a little bit differently than their QWARTY versions, which I like quite a bit. Take SwiftKey for example Swiftkey Letters are all together. Some punctuation on the bottom next to space and enter/send. Ortholinear on every row instead of just the top ones with a difference on the lower rows. Backspace in the top left where if it is missed then all you've done is add an extra character instead of sending your message accidently.

I can get used to having my exclamation and question mark under different buttons instead of combined under the period. But the period and backspace placement are inefficient and not very well thought out. I'd be happy to have a deeper discussion on some of this with any team members. Let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Complexity

Not very complex, I'm not asking for a change of functions, mostly just key placement.
