Opening Odyssey video links as channels #504

Open birdup000 opened 11 months ago

birdup000 commented 11 months ago

Trying this link which is a video it doesn't play the video it sees it opens it as a channel.

PS: Not trying to make it political but it is what I stumbled across that had this issue on the app.

it doesn't redirect the link to the actual video it treats video name it as the channel name

The oddysee description looks like it is the about if you view the channel like that.

Can confirm this is still present in the latest version of the app.

Posting comment from #1104 for visibility:

Steps to reproduce:

* Open any odysee video in a browser (example: https://odysee.com/@BrodieRobertson:5/never-criticize-the-linux-foundation:f)

* Click "Open in app"

* The video opens the authors channel

The RSS situation is weirder: (duplicate of #997)

* Open any odysee rss feed url in a browser (example: https://odysee.com/never-criticize-the-linux-foundation:f941c34bdd6afdcb62a1de132709a8e87a229ee7)

* Click "Open in app"

* The video open as a channel

Videos with a url-encoded character return an error: https://odysee.com/debian%27s-openssl-bug-lingers-16-years:7943ccc521796434d60653a1aed5bbfc5dab6f15
