[Feature request] persistent queue #576

Open shadoxxhd opened 10 months ago

shadoxxhd commented 10 months ago

It would be nice if the queue (or at least the remaining unwatched videos on it) would persist when the app is closed (eg. by android after not using the app for a day).

Perhaps the queue could be a special kind of playlist, with "clear" action, the current "add to queue" functionality, and working as the default Autoplay source?

Kraktoos commented 10 months ago

I'd also like to see this. Sometimes just by turning off the phone screen and turning it back on the queue gets empty which annoys me a ton.

Please please please. The queue needs a lot of work in fact.

IMO a "are you sure?" dialog after pressing the clear queue button would suffice, but I also don't see any issues with your suggestion.

The most important thing to me is that some implementation of this feature is added relatively soon, since its lack is the main issue preventing me from regularly using grayjay.

Also if anyone has ever gotten the message that an "error occurred with playback" but are still in a queue. Skip to next video and skip back to prevoius. This trick has saved loads of time.

BmetaMax commented 5 months ago

Still really needed, the queue problems have been the single biggest barrier to my fulltime adoption of Grayjay, I've paid for it, LOVE the app and lack of ads, but the queue being dumped for any number of reasons is just so frustrating, please fix!

JustCryen commented 1 month ago

This it getting very frustrating.
The app will often clear the queue and close the player when stopping the video from the floating window for no apparent reason.

The app is not being closed, it just shows the UI (mainpage to be exact) instead of the video in the floating viewport.
And all the queued videos are gone.

Persistent queue would be enough to make this bug just a minor annoyance instead of an infuriating and time wasting mess.

Here if another app is opened my queue can empty. Perhaps I can fix this bug - will see if its open to public devs for fixing, I think it is.
