YouTube livestream playback issues

When attempting to watch a livestream, the stream doesn't load, abd player showing negative rewind time.

System info: Android 13 (Vivo V20); app and YouTube plugin are latest version.

Can confirm I have this issue also.

• Only seems to affect the YouTube plugin.
• Same livestream on Twitch works without issue.
• Counter sits at -12:-55 and playback never starts.
• Normal video playback is unaffected.
• Live chat appears to work normally.
• Clearing the Cache does not resolve the issue.
• Wiping the app storage completely and restoring the ZIP export does not resolve the issue.
• Wiping the app storage completely and starting fresh does not resolve the issue.
• Removing the app and reinstalling from the App Store did not fix the issue.
• Tried with the YouTube plugged in not signed in, and signed in.

Google Pixel 6XL / GrapheneOS - Android 14.

Also (at least for me), I'm having live stream issues where it seems like live streams are getting "less reliable"? Or like more sensitive, or like there's no buffering happening??

When I play a live stream from home wifi, its fairly stable for me... but when I play a live stream using mobile data... every 10 seconds to 1min, the live stream just stops and goes to a black screen showing and unusable / unclickable play button (it doesn't work. I have to click on a different video, then click on the live stream video again to get it to reload).

Its like there's no buffer at all... Or very unforgiving to the data quality... if that makes sense

I've also tried doing the lowest stream quality on the live stream to try to offset it from failing. It makes no difference

I don't even bother to watch live streams when on mobile data because they just fail constantly.

I should mention I don't have this issues with live streams on other video playing apps. It appears like there is an issue on Grayjay. I don't know if others can attest to this as well?
