YouTube perpetually requires captcha #985

Am I the only one with this issue. As of just now, YouTube videos won't show. The app asks for a captcha, but after completing it and closing YouTube, nothing has changed. YouTube videos are not loading and it asks for a captcha again.

Well now it appears to be working after sending me through 15 captchas and still going. I quit and changed my ip address for a moment, then it seems to have resolved itself.

Just started for me today too, it has blacklisted my ip.

This can happen if a lot of requests were made from your ip. Grayjay tries to limit the amount of requests made (using ratelimits and such). However if you for example were importing and then refreshed lots of subscriptions, it can still happen.

If this is a constant issue for you, in the Youtube plugin settings you can lower your ratelimit (default 140, reduce it to 75 for example)

I don't think it's just that.

I'm a user since launch, and have tuned that months ago, I use login for channels and video description, I've not changed anything (inc subscriptions) recently.

I'm pretty sure this is just Google fuckery, it's just started recently, I suspect they're ring rolling out "experiments", possibly lowering their request limits.
