5 years ago This is my thinking behind the suggestion to fully mask the search:
- the main problem with search at the moment is the mess of hashtags. Until hashtags are managed, search gives access to a lot of frustrating user experience
- We should head for an alpha release, not another prototype
- A good way to achieve better user experience, is to reduce functionalities and improve remaining functionalities. A bad feature is worse than a missing feature.
- If our colleague needs search for editing, she can use https://kartevonmorgen.org/#/?center=48.140,11.552&zoom=13.00
- until the new search is finished, let's replace it with a link to the overlay. The overlay gives access to all really working use cases through the selected hashtags

@simonkoehl @sonja-retzlaff What is our final decision on this? Do we mask it fully or not? I would suggest to provide it but add a hint like „Die Suche wird aktuell überarbeitet. Es kann nach Namen / Kategorien der Einträge gefiltert werden“. No search makes it really hard to find (and alter) existing locations and filter entries. If we communicate that this is a limited prototype there shouldn't be any disappointments.
