Duplicate message popups displayed #321

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Received one sms, system notifications disabled, sms popular enabled.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: one popular displayed per sms received.
Displayed: two popular displayed: one timestamped at the time sms rec'd, the
other timestamped four hours earlier but with a duplicate message. Only one sms
(with correct time) displays in the message inbox.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Beta fix version 1.2
Android 2.3.4

Please provide any additional information below.
This issue was not present with version 1.1. Additionally, it does not happen
consistently, but appears to almost always affect the most frequently-contacted
numbers.

After a full reboot of my phone the problem is back. Same issue - duplicate
popups with timestamp off by 4 hours.

I also find it odd that the two messages are formatted differently (see
attachments). Is this a carrier issue? Or an app issue?

bugfix4 seems to have fixed it again. It's possible that when the issue
re-appeared, google play store had auto-updated smspopup to the "latest" store
version. I have disabled auto-update until this is all settled out.

Thnx for the donation!

I will posting up bugfix4 to Play Store shortly if all looks good.

As for the screenshots - that has me completely stumped. The message text
really isn't under my apps control so that appears to actually be 2 separate
messages. Very strange.

I also get this problem with SMS Popup. I believe I have the latest google play
version available. Running on lg spectrum , with android 2.3 if that makes a
difference. Looks exactly the same as the screenshots provided above.

Do they have the strange (Subject) on one message and [Subject] on the other?
Do you guys know why these messages have Subject prefixed to them, is this some
special VZW/Sprint value-add SMS service?
