Incorrect Time Stamps on Sprint (v1.2.4) #356

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Receive popup for incoming SMS notification.
2. Notice that time on popup is off by several hours.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output would be for the time stamp to match that which shows in
the system messaging app. Instead it is off by 7.5 hours.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.2.4 on an HTC Evo 4G LTE, Android OS 4.0.3 and HTC Sense 4.0. Rooted with
SuperSU but still using stock everything and bootloader is NOT unlocked.

Please provide any additional information below.
I didn't notice immediately but I think the time offset may not be consistent.
I thought the first time I noticed the discrepancy it was only off by 5 hours,
but the next time I noticed it was definitely 7.5, and then the tests I did
after that were all 7.5 hours off as well. That is, they're showing as 7.5
hours EARLIER than the actual time.

My carrier is Sprint, a US CDMA carrier. And though I saw mention that this
bug with the time was fixed for CDMA carriers exhibiting it, I think it came
back up in the last version.

Mine is off by 5.0 hours on US Cellular, also a US CDMA carrier. I had a beta
version of SMS Popup, which I believe was something like 1.2.2-beta-timestamp,
that did fix the issue. When I updated to 1.2.4 it returned. I think it is
sporadic, but I'm not sure.

Also like to add that I'm on US Cellular and the time stamp is off. For
example, a text from my wife this morning at 7:50 showed as 1:50 on the popup.
I do use 24 hour time instead of 12 hour time if that makes a difference.

Same issue here.... 6 hours off, using Sprint. is there a fix? Uninstall and
find or write a duplicate app without the bug?
