Unread Message Counter Won't Reset #386

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Receive text.
2.Quick reply.
3.Stock messaging app now shows 1 unread message in a small bubble above the
app icon. Won't go away even you go in manually and read the message thread.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect the message app to show 0 unread messages since I replied to it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Android 4.1.1
Please provide any additional information below.

I disabled default notifications from the stock messaging app and have no other
SMS apps installed.

Apparently, it is a known problem:

Same problem here with my Moto Droid HD running Android 4.4.2
It has been going on for a while, it was doing it with the previous Android
version on that phone (not sure which it was).
Rebooting the Operating System does not always fix the problem.
It is hard to reproduce the problem.
It seems to be more likely to occur if I try to open the message window and
close it quickly. It seems that if I take my time, the likelihood that it will
happen is less.
