"Close" button does not mark message as read #436

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Any time a message comes in.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Message count remains on stock message icon, message shows as unread in app

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.3.0, Android 4.4.2 on LG G2

Please provide any additional information below.
