8 months ago @mrhpearson this is https://fwupd.org/lvfs/firmware/73661 and has a very low success rate -- do you want to demote and report internally? @apogza I think this is a firmware problem, not a fwupd problem.

8 months ago I got exactly the the same error on a Thinkpad E14 AMD Gen5 ! (while the update is labeled for ThinkPad L14 AMD Gen2). So, for me it looks like there is a wrong mapping between the firmware-update and the laptop product model.
Since I didn't look that closely at first, I tried two times to install it, first via gnome-software and the second time via sudo fwupdmgr update. The result was the same - after installing and rebooting, I could see that the update was trying to install, but the process was canceled after half a second or so. And the update notification still persists.

8 months ago The L14/L15 G2 AMD firmware has been fixed - FW team added a CHID to make sure it's only offered on the L14
@VictorGob - are you being offered the L14 G2 AMD FW or are you failing to update? If an update failure can you create a new ticket please as the L4 G3 Intel FW team is different

8 months ago I can confirm that it already no longer appears in the list of fwupdmgr get-updates on a Thinkpad E14 AMD Gen5
On Fedora 39 I keep getting an update for the embedded controller of my Thinkpad L14.
The whole update seems to be applied and the system requires a restart. Upon restart the same update pops up. I have tried applying the update through Gnome Software as well as in the shell using fwupd update. In either case no error is produced.
In addition, I installed Gnome Firmware. There I could the following error:
