FX Sound on Windows 10 and using SDRadio Ver 0.99 #90

Describe the bug I have installed FX Sound from both the Microsoft Web Site and the FX Sound web site. After I install it and run it (either direct or Admin), it opens and then closes. I never see a control panel.

I am attempting to use it with SDRadio Ver 0.99.

I switch to "Speaker using FX Sound", but to no avail.

I have uninstalled it, reboot, re-install several times.

I am using Windows 10 64-bit and a Dell T-3500 Tower with 24 GB memory and 1 TB SSD.

I have the latest updates from Microsoft.

The SDR input is a Panadapter that is "SoftRock Lite" from my Ham Radio. The input to the Dell is Stereo audio via the LINE IN jack.

Thanks in Advance.

Good evening George,

Could you please check these instances:

1) In Windows Sound, for a device called FxSound Speakers, 2) In Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers, for a device called FxSound Audio Enhancer, 3) In Control Panel, under Programs and Features, for FxSound (by FxSound LLC), 4) In C: \ Program Files, for a folder named FxSound LLC, 5) In the hidden folder C: \ Users \ [ Your Username ] \ AppData \ Roaming, for a folder named FxSound.

If all of those are present, it is safe to assume FxSound is currently installed. If none are present, it is safe to assume FxSound is currently not installed; and then the question becomes, how to install FxSound successfully. If some of those are present, the best first recourse towards removing FxSound would be, to manually uninstall the FxSound Audio Enhancer driver; you can find the instructions on how to do that linked here.

Note: A possible last-resort option towards removal would probably be, to use specialized full uninstaller software in order to completely remove all remaining components.

Note: If you can find 4) the FxSound LLC folder inside your Program Files, then clicking the FxSound folder and running the FxSound.exe located there, should allow you to run/start the program.

I hope to hear back from you soon.

To confirm if the FxSound driver is installed correctly, go to the directory %PROGRAMFILES%\FxSound LLC\FxSound\Apps and run this command from command prompt, DfxSetupDrv.exe check The output should be FxSound Audio Enhancer. Also if the driver is installed, it will show up in Device Manager as follows:

It does appear everywhere tyou mentioned. I ran the Driver updater as well. I tried to run it from the PROGRAMS directory as instructed. It opens, dislays briefly, and then closes again. It does not show up in the running programs icon box.

Next? Try to unisntall / reinstall again?

Thanks.

George B.

@GRBlake488 is FxSound running without SDRadio Ver 0.99? Can you please share the download link for SDRadio Ver 0.99, I will try to install and debug this issue. Do I need any specific hardware to run SDRadio?

The problem is not running SDRadio with FX Sound. FX Sounde crashes way before you ever get to load SDRadio. FX Sound acts like it is loading, brings up a message screen that shows the GitHub location, and then dies. If you try to go to the Icon tray in the lower right corner of the monitor, it disappears. When I check Task Manager, it isn't running. It appears, dies and then disappears.

Thanks.
