Surround Sound | 5.1 | Side speakers instead of rear speakers in speaker configuration #98

Describe the bug As far as I now, this is a long standing issue which failed to be fixed already once in the past. The problem is, that the FxSound virtual audio devices shows side instead of rear speakers in a 5.1 setup in the Windows speaker configuration.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Set your speakers to a 5.1 configuration in Windows
  2. Open the speaker configuaration of the FxSound virtual audio device
  3. Move forward until the optional speakers are shown
  4. Here, FxSounds virtual audio device shows side speakers instead of rear speakers while the true physical audio device shows them correnctly which also cannot be changed

Expected behavior Obvious.

Screenshots I can provide a screenshot later if needed when back at home; just let me know ...

Hi, There are indeed known issues with Surround Sound, see https://github.com/fxsound2/fxsound-app/issues/12. Unfortunately, we are not able to fix them at the moment. Posted by @jamesarcher9000:
