What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Pick a font; any of the Powerline-patched fonts are a good example of this
issue
2. Launch fbterm with the font and echo something with a background color, or
experiment with a Powerline bash prompt
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The font should be rendered in the middle of the line with a small amount of
visible padding at the top and bottom. Instead, the text touches the top of
the line, reaching the edge of the background with only 1px of padding at the
bottom. This can be mitigated slightly by forcing the font height, though the
Powerline glyphs still do not correctly line up as they would in Gnome Terminal
or Konsole.
Bold fonts also look quite condensed, in comparison to their use in X.
fbterm's bold looks about the same weight as Gnome Terminal's light.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.7
Screenshot with demonstration attached, using the font DejaVu Sans Mono for
Powerline.
