I am not sure what this PR is fixing - there are a lot of changes but the title is "Bugs/fyne cross s3". And some commits relate to unreleased work in other pull requests.

I think I messed up this PR and ended up pushing 3 branch into one. I have done a rebase to clean things up and make sure that the 3 other PR are independent as much as possible.
