The calculations of emissions-weighted prices rely on different datasets (IEA, Rhodium, CEADS) whose data may not accord with that of EDGAR. Yet, country and world total emissions are taken from EDGAR. Therefore, more precise estimates of shares of emissions covered by carbon pricing (and of average prices) could be obtained by calibrating these datasets to EDGAR data.
Work is ongoing to implement such calibration for IEA data.
