Extension database broken #229

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Minimalist version - 0.5.20
Relevant core module - ?
Chrome version - 20.0.1132.57 m
Operating System - Win 7 64-bit
Language - English
Google Apps user? - No
Other extensions - Adblocker, Awesome Screenshot, Cortex, exfm, Tracking
op-out

When Chrome is closed and opened again, any new modules made last time chrome
was open will be gone and any changes to existing plugins will be gone too. So
simply it seems like the plugin doesn't save the plugins (though each change
has been saved with the savebutton at the top).

Furthermore the plugin makes copies of some of the modules (when opening chrome
and new modules and changes are gone). From what I have observed the last
edited module will be copied ones and an older version of that module will then
reappear (so there are 1 earlier copy and 2 newer copies, but non with the
latest changes).

Please let me know if I can supply more information in any way. Hope to get
this fixed!

Hey,

I'm glad to see that this was revived, hopefully we see the Google Calendar
module? Anyways.. I just updated the extension and when I opened it the tab
just seems to constantly refresh and the loading image just keeps spinning.

Go to chrome://extensions and ensure that you are on 0.6.0 or higher. If not
then check Developer Mode at the top and click Update extensions now

on chrome://extensions, under Minimalist for Everything, click on
_generated_background_page.html. Are there any errors in the console?

What version of Chrome? Can you try reinstalling the extension?

Nope, 24. I just checked to see if I had any updates and I didn't. Meh, I
reinstalled the extension and it seems to be working fine now. Everything just
looks so much more refined. Good job Ansel.

Glad a fresh install is working. I will try to troubleshoot the database
upgrade error though.

Updated to 0.6.3 which should solve the problem of the local databased not
migrating correctly.

Anyone who hasn't reinstalled, please force update and let me know if the
dashboard starts loading again:
Tools > Extensions > Developer Tools > Update extensions now

I just reinstalled the plugin and it seems to be operation smooth now in
relation to this issue. I'll update if I find any new bugs related to this one.

Chrome prompts me that there is a new update to it, so you might be right that
25 is the latest stable Ansel.

The new icons and layout-adjustments works really well by the way! Great work!

I think uninstalling the extension deletes the local database now (it
didn't used to) so that fixes the issue without my migration patch.

Still, glad it's working and thanks for the feedback!

I deactivated it, then deleted it from chrome, went to the webstore and
installed it again.

You're very welcome! I enjoy using it every day.
