Can you set up a simple interface for sending files to a specific directory on
the phone's sd card? This would be freakin awesome!

Please add this functionality. Currently, I email myself an *.apk and use gmail
to install it.

It would be so much nicer if we could just drag and drop the apk or any other
file on the chrometophone extension. You could have a setting which
automatically saves the file to the default download folder on the SD card OR
give the user an option of accepting to download the file.

Yup, sending files (pictures, sounds, contacts, everything) without using
cable, or using mail, would be great. One app to rule them all.

Handling just simple links is... too simple like for one application.

Cloud To Device has a 1024 byte message limit, see:
http://code.google.com/android/c2dm/index.html#limitations

So sending a file directly to the device using this infrastructure wouldn't be
possible. It would, however, be possible to move the file to some third-party
(i.e. dropbox), generate a link, and send the link to the mobile device. Upon
receipt, the device could download the file.
