Please answer the questions about build version and network, will save
developers a lot of time !

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open chrome to phone
2. Press Register

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect something to say that I have registered, The status stays as
"Registering device"

What version of the android, in Settings -> About phone -> Build number (
ex. FRFxx ) ? If less than FRF50 - see the FAQ.

FRF84B
Moto Droid running CM6-alpha, beta, and now RC1 (tried all 3)

Is the phone using WiFi or mobile network when problem occurs ? If Wifi,
are you behind a firewall that blocks outgoing connections ?

I have this issue on 3G and Wifi. I have complete access to my firewall and am
not having any issues with the firewall.

Can you open "Gmail" application ? Do you see new messages without hitting
'refresh' ?

Yes I can do all of this.

Can you open "Talk" application ? Do you see incoming chats ?

Yes I can do this.

Please provide any additional information below.

I used adb logcat and found this error when attempting to register
W/ActivityManager( 1106): Unable to start service Intent {
act=com.google.android.c2dm.intent.REGISTER pkg=com.google.android.gsf (has
extras) }: not found

This means C2DM is not on the phone for some reason.

I had a similar problem. I was at home and had wifi enabled on the Droid. I had
the Chrome plugin installed. I could not connect to register the device on the
Droid end. I turned off the wifi to rely on 3g and it connected right up. There
was no door out of my wifi router for the Droid. Perhaps this should go into a
FAQ.

Techgururobin, thanks for reply but it is not relevant to my situation. I noted
in my original post that I have tried this via wifi and 3g, neither work. I
have also tried this on several other hotspot I can even dmz my phone on my
router and it still won't work. I had attached the logcat snippet with the
error I caught while attempting to register.

Burke, so it seems. Do you know where I might aquire this package?
