Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Please answer the questions about build version and network, will save
developers a lot of time !

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Click 'send to phone' via firefox add-on (to get 404 error on Mac OS 10.5)
2. Install apk on Froyo/EVO, click on download (to get "parse" error message)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

1. get 404 error on Macbook Pro OSX
2. get "parse" error message on Froyo/Evo

What version of the android, in Settings -> About phone -> Build number (
ex. FRFxx ) ? If less than FRF50 - see the FAQ.

Is the phone using WiFi or mobile network when problem occurs ? If Wifi,
are you behind a firewall that blocks outgoing connections ?

Can you open "Gmail" application ? Do you see new messages without hitting
'refresh' ?

Can you open "Talk" application ? Do you see incoming chats ?

Please provide any additional information below.

For the Firefox extension, how does the 404 error appear, is it in a popup box
or in a new tab (if so could you please provide which URL is in the address of
the new tab)?

srfcrzy,
The error appears because the link to the help page had changed.
You are seeing that page because you have not registered your device with the
service yet. Before you can send links you need to open chrometophone on your
Android and follow the setup wizard to connect it to your account.

It sows up in a new tab. Here's the url:

id-v1.1.apk

Android with Froyo....

Are you sure you have upgraded to Froyo 2.2 (I don't think it ships with it
preinstalled). The parse error has only been reported when users attempt to run
it in Android 2.1 (See issue 52, issue 79 & issue 80 )

That's it--weird. I got the prompt to update to 2.2 yesterday and followed
it and got a notification that it had installed. Now I check and it says I
am running 2.1 - update 1. I'll sort that out and try again.

Thanks.

Fixed by successful reinstall of Froyo.
