Unable to log in on chrome (though logged into gmail and other google sites)

Please answer the questions about build version and network, will save
developers a lot of time !

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Click send to phone icon
2.Requests for me to log in
3.Sends me to a site to log in
4.Once I click sign in it sends me to: 
chrome-extension://hoblglgcpjghokadjiodmgihngkphobd/help.html#signed_in

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Want it to send to phone, but I get webpage not available in chrome.

What version of the android, in Settings -> About phone -> Build number (
ex. FRFxx ) ? If less than FRF50 - see the FAQ.
Nexus One, FRF91

Is the phone using WiFi or mobile network when problem occurs ? If Wifi,
are you behind a firewall that blocks outgoing connections ?
Using network.

Can you open "Gmail" application ? Do you see new messages without hitting
'refresh' ?
Yes

Can you open "Talk" application ? Do you see incoming chats ?
Yes

Please provide any additional information below.
Tried both old and new app links, same issue.

Had the same prob here... using Google Chrome 6.0.495.0 dev. 

Possible cause:
Options -> Privacy/Content Settings -> Cookies -> Block sites from setting any 
data

Possible solutions (both worked for me):
1) Choose "Allow local data to be set (recommended)"
or
2) Add to "Exceptions"
- [*.]google.com
- [*.]appspot.com

- [*.]appengine.google.com
to "Exceptions" is sufficient
