I starred this issue, but I later discovered that ChevyNo1 (who's froyo Kernel
and ROM I am using) released a fix in the form of an update.zip which will fix
this issue. It worked for me. I am not sure if everyones issue is being caused
by the same issue. I found his ROM at droidforum.net but I'm sure a google
search will find it.

Having issues registering on new Incredible, am I missing something?

Not sure if this helps:
I tried using my Google account that's associated with GFYD (Google for your
domain) and it DID NOT WORK.
I tried using my Google account that's associated with Gmail and it DID indeed
register.

Same problem. Device does not register if you are using a Google Apps For Your
Domain account. The rest of Android works fairly well with these accounts.

I am also not able to register on Moto Droid with Froyo. I have attached a
snippet from logcat from when it is attempting to register.

*Update* Through some more digging I found the the app is blocked by the Great
Firewall of China (didn't notice on my PC as it's behind a VPN). I registered
via WiFi with a VPN and then can use the app normally without running the VPN
on my phone. Good news.

Appears to be a firewall issue.
