Support for holes in polygons #8

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Is it possible to define polygons with holes in Polygonzo? If not, would it be
possible to add this feature?

I am working on a visualization with overlapped / included areas.

Let me guess: Counties and Independent Cities in Virginia? :-)

I also need those to work for a census map project I'm doing for Google right
now, so they will be fixed soon. Thanks for alerting me to it.

It's actually the capital region of Finland I am visualizing. There is one town
here which is completely surrounded by another one.

I'm taking a look at this now.

There will probably be one requirement imposed by Canvas: any inner polygons
have to run in the opposite direction from the outer polygon. For example, if
the larger town boundary runs clockwise, the enclosed town's boundary has to
run counterclockwise.

Do you think that will be a problem?

I am sure I can easily change the polygon data to have a reserved point order.
It shouldn't be a big problem.

Sorry I didn't add this sooner, but polygons with holes are now supported. I
don't have a test case, but you can see it in action on the Turkish election
map:

t.html

Roll the mouse over Ankara 1 and Ankara 2 just left of center - part of Ankara
2 is an enclave inside Ankara 1.
