Yaesu PDN mode is similar to D-Star's access point mode and terminal mode, or OpenGD77's DMR hotspot mode. It allows a radio to connect to a reflector on the network and become a hotspot. Currently only Yaesu's Wires-X software uses this feature, but the software cannot connect to YSF/FCS reflectors.
If MMDVM could support this feature, it would allow people to use old radios as YSF hotspots. These old radios could provide more stability and power than Hat, and also increase the ability to get old radio reused.
