Feature Idea: Smart Link generation #29

There is currently a stand-alone Smart Link tool being built. This can be integrated with the plugin for members who use WordPress.

Another page can be added under the Amazing System menu for Smart Links. It can allow for the 1ShoppingCart form link to be added, just like the original tool. The added benefit is we can also ask for the Thank You page. With that information, we can generate a more accurate link with all needed fields.

Currently, Smart Links use cookies to keep tabs on the click count. With WordPress, we can change that up to count using the email address. This allows a client to click once from their desktop computer, then again from a smartphone and have the statistics correctly show 2. The current cookie method, since it is a different device, the count resets to 1 any time the link is opened from a different device.

There is also a possibility of adding a "quick link" to the page editor, most likely somewhere near the Auto Responder link to create the Smart Link. This eliminates the step of choosing the Thank-You page. It may be possible to create an iMacro dynamically to create the form within 1ShoppingCart that has all the needed fields. As you may know, any fields not defined in their form are not accepted or passed on to Thank You pages.

I like what you said about getting a more accurate link with all the needed fields. The cookie issue really doesn't bother me but doing it through word press would be cool. Having the link near the existing link would be cool. Doing the I macro is a great idea as well. Most people however don't pass that many variables through so as cool as this idea is, will probably put the "someday" stamp on this one as well (the imacro).

I do like the idea of members being able to paste in their form link like with the tool I had made, and I think it is very cool that they could select one of their existing word press pages and then the special smart link being generated with the necessary fields based on what is used on that page. That would be freaking brilliant!
