People asked me a lot of questions about this and I think it may need an audit... Is it in the right place? Is it necessary? Is it working correctly?

Necessary, almost certainly. In the right place and working correctly, quite possibly not. That #17 went unaddressed as long as it did supports that latter.

@payne-chris-r what kind of questions did you get asked? I spent some time with Peter deciphering the code. He asked some very good questions, and I kind of wished we had a chance to discuss it with the class.

We just don't have time in the calendar for 016 to have this in a talk. Or, unfortunately the time to create one. Tabling this issue until the next iteration.
