Update to use mocks #19

There is a subtle bug on the mocks branch, but eventually code with mocks should be incorporated into the solution. @jrhorn424 @gaand

Were you able to find the issue? I'll look into it. Something is nagging me about mocks and I don't recall what it is. It may be a chicken-and-egg issue. It might be about teaching one thing at a time. It might be about reinforcing using methods.

This is frustrating.
