Pop out Chat frames?

I am curious to know if a pop out chat frame is possible.

I use Auctioneer, and a number of addons that they package show up in a
small pop out frame on the side of my screen. so i got to wonderin.... can
i do this for my chat frames too? clear up a whole lot of un-needed clutter
on my screen?

Basically, what it does it auto-hides the frame off screen, and when you
mouse over it, it pops into the view field. 

So mebe it would be possible to get the tabs for chat frames (i use
general, combat, loot and a chat (guild, say, /w) frames) to hang on the
side, and when you mouse over them, they slide onto the screen, but lock or
something during combat.

i think it would be keen. or if this has been done, please someone point me
to it!
