That analysis is already out of date. Still in beta, we've taken Brave, disabled a bunch of their telemetry (like the go-updater stuff in that link), brave ads, brave referrals, brave sync, and are actively trying to remove more. The new version (65.118) is ready to go (just waiting on the website to update) and it eliminates a few more.
A few things to consider: We're small, and scrappy, doing what we can with the time we have available. We don't want to track users, nor provide anyone else telemetry. It doesn't benefit us to do so. If there's something still enabled, we want to know about it. The 'safe browsing' connection is something I noticed but haven't gotten to yet.
If you'd like to help, point out any code that is concerning, in the browser (gab-ai-inc/defiant-core branch 65.118) or the extension (freespeech4ever/gab-dissenter-extension is the one used in the browser.)
I personally put in more than 20 hours this weekend to update the browser and build a better, more private new-tab experience (no topsites permission, disabled dissenter link by default, etc). I understand your snark and skepticism, but I'd ask for some patience. We want to do what's right.
"Block Big Tech ads and trackers by default."
Sounds promising right ?

Then why the Dissenter extension enable all the worst telemetries services (such as (((Google))), (((Twitter))) or DoubleClick owned by (((Google)))), which phones home every single time you will use the extension ? And of course, nothing of this can be disabled.
Please, do something about this.
