Updated description for clarity
I collect spellfire cards. I'm good at typescript/react and ok at java springboot backend. This part of the current project or something new? I'm not sure what kind of tool you want. I mostly do web apps.
@emanual4real This whole thing is a passion project for an online community, and no one is getting paid. We're just here to create tools that help with the experience of our game. If that's okay with you, we can further discuss design ideas for this tool, otherwise I completely understand if you don't want to be involved. I don't know if this matters to you, but you'd be more than welcome to attach your name at the bottom of the page somewhere; the page will only be available to the user after a Discord login, we currently have 671 active users, and thousands more will through in the coming years.
General note: This is something new to the site.
I'm open to ideas, but, to be fair, I don't know what's possible with it. The only real requirement for how it should look is that the styling/color scheme matches the rest of the site and fulfills the requirements above. Open to thoughts on design and additional functionality.
I'm totally just looking for something to do on the side and beef up my github profile if I need to switch jobs. Also, I really like collecting trading cards.
This project will be attached to rc-website-web?
Yes, rc web and rc server found here https://github.com/rhit-corridg/rc-website-server
My discord is not linked. I tried from the https://www.rockwelltransport.com/home/ttools/ but I didn't have the directions show up. Will I not be able to access everything running it locally without discord linked?
Are there steps for getting setup with backend? I've got mysql docker image running, updated sequelize.json, ran the sql script, added my discord id...
@emanual4real I don't know the answer to your question above. Maybe rhit can help?
Separately, do you do any PC gaming? If so, it may be worth it to try out the game for a few hours to help understand everything! Google "FiveM GTA V"; the server in FiveM that we are part of is called Transport Tycoon.

You'll need discord linked unfortunately since this feature depends on a connection to the video game
Tried it out; makes more sense now. So this an app inside ttools that would read some file resources from the game? Client side mod on the server?
That's exactly right!
So we're talking about some client script for the user to run when playing Tycoon Transport server to get card data and send it to ttools api. Then a webapp on ttools web to do the above requests. That sound right?
We already have a page that retrieves a user's inventory from the Transport Tycoon servers if that's helpful. /home/ttools - but yes, that sounds right
We have a Discord server with several others who are working with our ttools API and the Transport Tycoon API. If/when you get there, just call out that you're a dev and we'll get you the role for the channel!

This wasn't completed in https://github.com/rhit-corridg/rc-website-web/pull/61 right?
Correct, this is a long-term project along the same thread. #61 is a short-term functional tool
Create a tool that allows the user to see what RTS cards they have left for completionist
Requirements
Nice-to-haves
Important Notes A new system of Public API keys has been created; this requires us to have the Public API key of the person who is accessing the page.
See the attached workflow diagram (rts_completionist.drawio (2).png) for a concept of how to handle this new means of requesting API data.
Use the text in (public_api_key_not_found_error_message.txt) when creating an error page: public_api_key_not_found_error_message.txt
This is in an excel spreadsheet, can also provide a CSV if needed!
