This is the best markdown plugin I've found for vim so far. As far as inspiration for future enhancements:

What feature do you like more of this sublime plugin?

I think vim-markdown does more, but the following features did seem appealing:

• Asterisks and underscores are auto-paired (backspacing on an empty pair deletes entire pair while hitting space removes the right side of the pair).
• Backticks are paired.
• The list item tabbing seems similar to vim-markdown; however, the sublime feature also cycles through *, -, +; you can disable automatic bullet switching or choose which bullets to be used.
• The blockquote and header handling seemed nice (select some text, hit # or > and it becomes a header or a blockquote). Not sure if overriding > in vim is a great idea or not, but I suppose it could be configurable as well.
