How to get custom colors in pre and code tags? #747

I just cloned the gatsby-starter-blog and I can't find a way to customize code blocks from the CSS. Even if I do anything, the default style is taking precedence. I don't think using !important every time is a good idea. I saw that you declared all the necessary in the global.css file but I couldn't find where or how you used it. Please help me navigate through.
