Add more precise syntax + docstrings for important structs #49

This commit does not change the functionality of the package, but adds more precise logging and debug info for future edits. It also adds docstrings and comments as initial documentation, which will later be moved to the proper web documentation.

Looks good, some tests did not pass, though.

Ah, I see. I didn't realize the boxes were meant to be half open. I'll fix that and update the README to correspond to that as well.
