@valeriuo can you transfer this issue to https://github.com/galaxyproject/tools-iuc/issues please? From the tools perspective, Galaxy is just a framework, for which tool wrappers are developed by different parties (tools-iuc being a major player). The samtools tools that you'll find installed on many Galaxy servers are getting developed here: https://github.com/galaxyproject/tools-iuc/tree/main/tool_collections/samtools.

Thanks @mvdbeek !

Maybe I can include this here https://github.com/galaxyproject/tools-iuc/pull/5102

@valeriuo I added a commit that removed the other citations and just added the main citation that is given in the github repo of samtools. Does this look good to you?

bernt-matthias commented 1 year ago

@bgruening I think the other citations are also useful for the users (but not for exporting tool citations). Maybe we should leave them included and think about something like this: https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy/issues/15438

@bgruening Maybe the links can be kept as well. The latest paper references the other three papers (with doi number).
