can't allow root access to app - droid 2 - android version 2.3.3 #182

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.rooted Droid 2
2.installed droidwall
3.attempt to turn on firewall, and receive the message "Could not acquire root
access. ... please make sure DroidWall has enough permissions to execute the
"su" command. Error message: Permission Denied.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Droid 2 - android version 2.3.3

Please provide any additional information below.

When i run Superuser Permissions, I don't see DroidWall listed there, and the
droidwall app doesn't bring up the root request dialog like it seems that it
should.

Did you try running root checker or re-rooting your device?
DroidWall only executes "su", so there is nothing I can do if that doesn't work
correctly...

Hello Rodrigo ,

thank you very much for your project - I have a 7" Android 2.2 China tablet
rooted whith 1_5_7 version of droidwall and have the same problem above :
"Could not acquire root access".I have checked permission and GID via TERM as
root# in "/data/data/com.googlecode.droidwall/app_bin" of file droidwall.sh and
changed various
permission (chmod 6755/775/777) but it do not work when enable firewall via GUI.
I have also tryed autostarts.apk to force Superuser.apk to promote droidwall as
"root application" but unsucessfull , idem for any system help information
whith "logcat" command : do tou have suggestions ?

Regards
Giuseppe - Italy
