yarden.zamir I'd say working out something short term for this is of some importance given what's happened to crushed white processing
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
long term ideally
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
i mean we could make something that looks kinda like a logic device
Yes, I agree. Am still not sure about the best aproach. This seems like it could work but if we are adding something different from redstone i'd prefer for it to behave different too, like red power wire or something similar
But I also would prefer to have a use for regular redstone if possible
Though pretty sure that won't be easy to do
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
i mean it wouldn't connect to this wire
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
im not sure of the specifics here
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
not sure but these wires might have a lower signal range
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
im half remembering the mr description
that would work
We texture them a little more like frail wiring instead of dust maybe, make then a 4th device
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
actually would it be that bad if redstone never needed to be in the inventory? it can't compact into logic devices
not sure what you mean
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
like there's no way to pack your redstone supplies into devices unlike the wire component
I'm still not sure what you mean by never not being in inventory
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
oh I must've misspoke
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
if you want to wire things then it's not enough to just have the logic devices on hand
yes, to fix that we want some alternate wire thing that is ideally different from redstone
and that thing will be a device / partial device
it could be those colored redstone things potentially
Need to test and see that they are interesting enough + play with the textures
That mod seems poorly made
It uses block states for all the redstone overlapping wires rather than multi blocks etc
As it says in the description it'd add 10s of thousands of block states which will absolutely destroy machines with less ram
Even with ferrite core
Better off using something like ^
And retexturing and changing recipes
Plus it comes with the extra gates
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
maybe, although the extra gates aren't necessarily desirable
I mean it's pretty easy to disable recipes
And it won't add 10s of thousands of blockstates
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
although the power stone mod doesn't actually add all the block states it would need in its theoretical complete version
But if you look at the bottom what they settled for is still 10s of thousands
It's just less than the billions
When they could instead just use multiblocks using a library
Or some custom tile entities
Which while still inefficient are 100s of times better than individually defining that many blockstates
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
wait they literally have ferrite core as a dependency because it lets you change default ram to 12gb
Which you can do anyway with launch args
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
that's really funny
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
i guess the mod literally can't run unless you do that or something
Like I said the dev doesn't seem very smart and that just admits it needs ram
With that many blockstates it'll die on older machines
autistic.sack.of.friends on Discord says
it's all very funny
