xGap and yGap currently require # derived from ICON SIZE + GAP #9

It would be nice if xgap ygap #s could just be the size of the gap. Currently it's the width or height of the pic plus the gap (Xsize="32" xGap="34"). I'd like to be able to write xGap="2" and get a 2px gap no matter the size of the image.

Just to state the obvious: this would require changes to all current xmls. And this is probably a pre-requisite to #10.
