Description:

Hammer of Wrath damage is lower than intended by a mile.

How to reproduce:

How it should work:

This PvE Ret Paladin here did 35 685 HoW critical hit on a Raider Training dummy.

I did 32 646 with considerably higher and better gear than this guy.

Check it out: HoW crit was at 10:47 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDcPiWMUaFE&ab_channel=Prentice

Kindly note that this guy is 4.0.6 - 4.1.0 geared you can check his gear at 5:39.

If you really want to compare this, you need to look not at the equipment, but at the character's characteristics. Without exact characteristics, comparing damage is absurd. Secondly. In different patches, everything worked differently. Starting with the %Mastery increase in damage from skill and ending with the damage formulas for abilities. Therefore, it is absolutely incorrect to compare damage.

I will write same for both your reports.

Download simcraft+rawr addon. Sim your char and then we can try to compare data from sim and data you had from dummy testing

So why are you testing this completly wrong. Simcraft has option in which you can check what raid buffs you are having. Also simcraft is assuming you have flask/food/potion and all cd's so your testing on dummy didnt make any sense

i never used simcraft before cause on retail there are 0 bugs so i am completely new to the addon, you can guide me for it on discord if u want to.

Basically here you must check boxes on your personal buffs and debuffs image And sims are assuming you are using potion image And sims are playing like that that your highest crit is always in perfect proc combination so hits on server should be lower because there is super low chance for landing templar verdict max weapon dmg roll on landslide/guardian/zealatory etc

So for testing purpose: Make sure you have all cd's + few golemblood potions. Do like 4-5 runs each is like 1 min on the dummy. After comparing those results to simcraft will make it compareable. If we will see that hits on our server are much lower then we can check talents+procs+all combat log from simcraft to serach for bug

Okay i figured it out and i configured the addon now, check for yourself:

i only enabled my own buffs and disabled all debuffs cause ret dont do debuffs

So now comparing You had 4 normal hits for average 16,9,simcraft has average of 17,8k. Sims are 6 min fights, please do 6 min dummy hitting and then we can compare data from both.
