Tint2 Icons DIstorted & Windows Stick On Close & Xterm Closes While Typing #3

Hi,

I'm running Slackware64 14.0 and I compiled the Cairo-Composite-Manager today from GIT and I'm running into a few bugs...

I only run Openbox and I use the latest Tint2 from SVN and I have 4 launcher icons that I use in Tint2 and when I start the Cairo-Composite-Manager these get distorted along with a lot of applications I open that display an icon in the taskbar of tint2 also...

Icons that normally appear in the taskbar as just the logo image, now with the Cairo-Composite-Manager running they will typically have a border around them or appear distorted.

I ran into this same problem with the xcompmgr but read online that when using it with tint2 you need to have tint2 start first then the xcompmgr. Well even doing this with the Cairo-Composite-Manager doesn't work starting it after tint2.

Here's a screen shot showing the launcher icons to the far left distorted along with the firefox icon in the taskbar;

Now here is how the launcher icons and firefox look without the Cairo-Composite-Manager running, clean looking;

Also I've had to play with some of the window effects, 'Duration' and 'Fade' turning them way down, because if I don't when clicking the X to close a window, the window will just stay on the desktop and not close until I move to another workspace then it's removed from the desktop...

Also I noticed if I just type in cd and hit the Tab key on the keyboard to move to a /path that is quite long in xterm, meaning moving/tab completion through a lot of directories, at some random point the terminal will just close. I find this really disturbing, not being able to now use my terminal with the Cairo-Composite-Manager running...

THANKS for the Cairo-Composite-Manager, I really hope the development of this is going to continue and we can get some fixes for these issues soon...

THANKS

Regarding the tint2 icon corruption, I believe it's an issue in tint2 or imlib2. Patching tint2 to turn real transparency off looks like a feasible workaround. See: http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=24480 http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=26492
