Hi @cassidyjames
Thanks very much for the return, I suspected that suka hottoe did not really get into the appcenter process. I published it just in case of :-) I can understand your position.
Regarding the indicator and the official plug, it was actually in my secret plans to improve them but I preferred to start a separate project to test a more generic architecture to manage the sound, to improve the current support of audio and to include in future a jack support.
I am currently developing the addition of equalizer and after the bluetooth device support like what exists in the official components.
As soon as I finish I will look how to integrate it into the official components if it interests the elementary team.
@gandalfn it's necessary on default sound plug and indicator, the current features is very limited. Thanks for this :dancer:
Hey @gandalfn! This is a pretty sweet set of extensions for more fine-grained control of audio devices. Great job developing it!
However, I'm afraid we have decide to reject Suka Hottoe from AppCenter for a couple of reasons:
Apps require a distinct UI/window, along with a .desktop file in the Applications Menu.
This is really more a (couple of) extension(s) than an app. While definitely useful, we don't currently have a good process around desktop extensions. We'll share more if/when we expand AppCenter to include extensions.
In the meantime, I would love to direct you to the stock sound indicator and plug codebases if you would want to try and get some of your changes in there. I think a subset of elementary OS users would enjoy some more controls around sound devices.
